Martha Martinez Hatch

1931 ~ 2019

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother peacefully passed away on March 4, 2019, at 87 years old, in Lehi, Utah. Martha was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 29, 1931 to Margaret Dalbosco Martinez and Vincent Martinez Sr.

She has joined her beloved husband Shiblon Gregory Hatch Jr., her brother Bartolo Martinez and her grandson, Landon Gregory Hatch. Martha is survived by her son Elwood Gregory Hatch (Rachel) and her daughter Barbara Ann Webb (Dana), 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and brother Vincent Martinez Jr.

Martha grew up in San Antonio Texas. It was there that she met the love of her life, Gregg Hatch. They were married in San Antonio on September 7, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple on their 10th Anniversary.

Gregg was serving in the Air Force at that time he met Martha. His military career took them many places, including Misawa, Japan. It was there that Martha was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The family also lived in Michigan, Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada where she and Gregg raised their two children. Later, they moved back to Utah to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She held many church callings throughout her life including serving as a secretary in Young Women's Presidency, as a Relief Society counselor and as a primary teacher. Martha retired from the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) as an executive secretary after 33 years of employment, where she won many awards for exemplary service.

Martha lived a life filled with love for her family and her friends. She blessed so many lives in her own quiet way. She was a thoughtful and compassionate person, always kind to all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed by those whose lives were touched by her.

Martha\s funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary of Riverton, 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton, UT. A viewing will take place Friday March 8, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
