Walter Thomas Wallis

1937 ~ 2014

Walter Thomas Wallis passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 in Meridian, Idaho. He was born December 25, 1937 in Los Angeles, California to Walter Fredrick Wallis and Avis Mildred Keller.

Tom or \"Pops\", as he was known, married Marleen Kay Huntsman on February 18, 1955. Years later they were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They later divorced.

Always in construction, he worked in several aspects of the industry,specializing at times in siding, painting, wallpapering and general contracting. He concluded his career as a draftsman for Key Engineering in Salt Lake City, where he built friendships that would span decades.

An outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Always a fan of a little healthy competition, he loved to play cards. He was also loyal, always rooting on his life-long teams - the Rams and Dodgers. He also took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Full of charm and a killer sense of humor, Tom was a friend to everyone he

knew. He will forever be well loved and missed by many.

He is survived by his six children - Steve (Pam) of Riverton, UT, Darinda (Jay) Wardell of Morgan, UT, Jeff (Julie) of Riverton, UT, Julie (Tim) Christopherson of Meridian, ID, Tim (Lori) of Pocatello, ID and Chris (Heidi) of Arvada, CO; nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, his sister, Marilyn of Fairview, UT and his,step-mother Connie, of West Valley City, UT. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and grandson, Austin Christopherson.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 12, 2014 in Larkin Sunset Lawn Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Viewings will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Larkin Sunset Lawn and again Friday, April 11th from 10 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
