Jerrie passed away peacefully in her sleep early on the morning of September 18th. Jerrie was born January 24, 1928 to Jean W. Hawkes and Lottie McMillan Hawkes in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up with a love of the arts and was a gifted dancer. She attended West High school and refined her talent going on to entertain the troops on USO tours and other variety shows. She there met the love of her life, Marv Seiler, and they were married April 13, 1946. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were able to spend the next 69 years together enriching the lives of all with whom they had the oppo1iunity of associating with.
Jerrie was active in leadership roles with the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Salt Lake Retail Board, PTA and many church calling in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her many talents of art, dance and decorating have blessed many people around her and will continue to bless all that are left behind. She and Marv lived as one in all they did together in their life here on earth and will no doubt continue to do so through eternity.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Marv, her father, her mother, sister JoAnne Trumbo, sister Geneal (Lynn) Taylor and great granddaughter Leyna Leech. She is survived by her brother Bill (Nancy) Hawkes, children: Jean (Spring) Seiler, David (Sandy) Seiler, Ellen (Wes) Clarke, 21 grandchildren and 44greatgrandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday September 26, 2015 at the Douglas Ward, located at 721 South 1200 East Salt Lake City at 12:00 noon. Friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:30 before the service, under the direction of Larkin Mortuary. Her burial will be held at Wasatch Lawn 3401 South Highland Drive Salt Lake City, Utah.
