Doug Muffett

1940 ~ 2014

On Sunday December 28th, at home and with his family by his side, friends and family who have gone before escorted Douglas Kenneth Muffett home.

Doug was born in Salt Lake City on October 25, 1940. He spent most of his life in Salt Lake, but was proud to call many places home. None were as special to him as his many years in Montana, where his spirit is riding an ATV through the Pintlers and fishing on the Clark Fork River.

Following his time in the Air Force, he discovered his passion and life\s work in the car business. His sense of humor, quick wit, indomitably positive attitude and constant quest for adventure and fun endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to call him husband, dad, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend. He instilled a strong work ethic and love of life in each of his four children. He found immense pleasure in being a grandpa to his eight grandchildren who have many happy memories of golfing, fishing, camping, and riding ATVs and motorcycles with him.

Doug leaves behind his loving wife Carol, who has provided him unconditional love and support for 43 years. He is also survived by sisters, Marilyn Wright, Phyllis Middaugh, Jean Wawrzyniak and Sharon (Jim) Muffett; children, Greg, Robert, Michelle (Jason) Moss and Doug Jr.; grandchildren, Zachary, Michaun, Davis, Alex, Chase, Max, Gage and Giselle. Preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Dorothy Muffett; brothers-in-law, Mel Colbrook, Mick Lind, Ray Wawrzyniak, Roy Middaugh and Paul Wright and many dear friends.

Services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (106th South), Sandy, Utah on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior to the services beginning at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Doug\s life.
