Barbara W. Sprouse

1927 ~ 2015

Our beautiful mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Barbara Wilson Sprouse, passed away peacefully at her home on December 19, 2015.

Barbara was loved by all who knew her. She was a fabulous hostess and loved entertaining; many holiday parties and celebrations were held at her home over the years. She was famous for her special Bear Lake breakfasts, which always included her special recipe pancakes and eggs, hot chocolate and visiting on the deck. She had many raspberry bushes there and spent time harvesting them and making jam for her family and friends. Everyone loved going to "Aunt Barbara's/Gramma's". She was so much fun to be around, with her infectious laugh and her fun stories

Born June 2, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wilford E. and Bertha Christensen Wilson. Barbara graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. She married Stanley Sprouse in 1953 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She and Stan owned and operated Stan's Tower House Restaurant and later Log Haven Restaurant for a large part their life together. In addition, Barbara also worked for First Security bank for 30 years.

She loved spending time with her cousin and nieces each week having lunch, playing Quiddler, and making memories. She also faithfully attended and served in the temple weekly, as well as visiting her handicapped nephew each week to keep him company and remind him how much he was loved.

Barbara was an active member of the LDS church and served in the relief society, primary and with members of her ward through the years.

Survived by her step-son, Stuart Sprouse (Lee); 3 grandchildren, Terry Rowley (Russell), Jack Sprouse, Steven Sprouse (Buffy); 6 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, a cousin, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Stan Sprouse; parents, Wilford and Bertha Wilson; sisters, Bernice Madsen, Maxine Kreipl, and Vera Wilson.

Barbara was a wonderful example of goodness, love, and service. She will be missed. Until we meet again, we love you.
