BurnaDeen Cleverly Saldivar

1938 ~ 2016

With deep sadness from the loss or our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to so many. BurnaDeen was released from her tired body after a long, hard fight. She passed from this life to the next at home, with her husband of 58 years by her side. BurnaDeen was born on July 14th, 1938 to Parley and Marba (Curtis) Cleverly in Idaho Falls, ID. She had three sisters. Her family later moved to Salt Lake City.

She attended and graduated from Olympus High School. After Crespin got out of the Marine Corps, some friends set him up on a blind date. That blind date happened to be with BurnaDeen.

One year after she graduated high school the two sweethearts got married.

BurnaDeen and Crespin have three children. John, Ken and Cresdeen.

The family has had many opportunities to live abroad during her husband's Military carrier. These locations include Kirkland Washington, Redmond Washington, Canoga Park California, 6 years in Germany, El Paso Texas, Homestead Florida, Midvale Utah and eventually settling in Sandy Utah. BurnaDeen worked for the phone company in Washington, California and Texas as a switchboard operator. She also worked for 3 years at Litton Guidance and Control Systems in Canoga Park California. Later she worked at Litton Guidance and Control Systems in Salt Lake City Utah making her total carrier just shy if 20 years. She made many friends and loved her job.

She was notorious for her pranks and loving to have fun. One of her most infamous pranks involved her getting Crespin to get large chunks of soft packing sponge in which she would cut and shape. She would then decorate this sponge as if it were a real cake. She would bring this cake yearly and loved watching the reactions of those she was pranking as they would try and cut and hack into the inedible cake.

BurnaDeen was very family orientated. She had a very unique and very special relationship with each one of her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many nieces, nephews and friends of the family that she adopted and loved as her own. She always offered up food and drink and kept a very welcoming home that all felt comfort in. If there was a family gathering or reunion she would always be there, asking what she could bring. Over the past few years she really looked forward to having her brothers and sisters over for Sunday breakfast gatherings.

BurnaDeen always loved to travel, from her earlier years following her husband wherever his Military carrier took them, to week long family vacations, and even her short weekend drives. She was The Queen of Road Trips. Often times, their road trips were made up on the fly. She would gather the kids, grandkids and anyone that wanted to go. They would go off overnight or even weeks at a time.

She loved the West Coast and was in heaven on earth around beaches. Many family vacations were also spent camping in Montpelier, Idaho. One of their spur of the moment road trip adventures even lead them all the way up to Alaska.

BurnaDeen also enjoyed her trips to Wendover Utah, where she was also Queen, Queen of the slot machines. She did not like Crespin looking over her shoulder saying that he would bring her bad luck. It just so happens that she did not like shopping with Crespin because she did not want to have him question her purchases as what she wanted to buy was exactly what she wanted to buy no questions asked.

BurnaDeen also had an ability to communicate with just facial reactions. If you were doing something good you were sure to get a smile. If you were being bad and caught her face you were sure to get a scowling glare that could stop a bullet in its track.

She was also able to express her thoughts in full form. For BurnaDeen's Birthday in 2015, her daughter flew in from Washington on a surprise visit. BurnaDeen was caught off guard and called Cresdeen a Little "Shhh'poop".

There were so many times of laughter. Times where the laughter was so contagious that anyone around would be sure to end up laughing so hard it would turn to crying and muscle cramps. Her soul was so beautiful.

BurnaDeen is preceded in death by her parents Parley and Marba Cleverly, her in-laws Crespin Sr. and Lucy Saldivar, her brother in-laws Albert Lucero, Mike Wilson, Bill Martin, Ken Dellenbach, and sister in-law Kelly Saldivar, granddaughter Samantha Roller.
