Lowell Lyman Penrod

1920 ~ 2018

Lowell Lyman Penrod graduated from this earth life on August 28, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 98. Born August 3, 1920, to William Lowell and Emma Beardall Penrod.

Lyman grew up in Provo, Utah and married his high school sweetheart, Lucy Beth Prestwich. They moved to Salt Lake City and raised six children, LaDell, Bruce, Marie (Paul Bergeson), Evan (Deena), Lowell (April), and Leonard. Lyman made a career working as a refrigeration mechanic at a large ice cream plant for over 40 years.

Faithful to the end, Lyman served in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including as a Bishop twice and as a Patriarch for 25 years. He was a friend to all and an example of kindness, hard work, honesty, and love for his family.

Lyman was proceeded in death by his wife, Beth, his son, Bruce, son-in-law, John Hale, and a great-granddaughter, Raquel Kreutz. He is survived by 5 children, 38 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 12 great great-grandchildren. Dad always said, \"Family is everything!\"

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wandamere Ward Chapel, 304 East 2700 South. A viewing will be held at the Wandamere Ward Building on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
