Vivian LaVerne Yardley Ruppert

1926 ~ 2018

Vivian passed away on December 21, 2018, at the age of 92, in Salt Lake City. She was born to James Arthur and Eva Belle Herring on January 30, 1926 in Denver, CO.

Vivian met then pilot-in-training James Porter Yardley in Denver and would eventually wed on October 20, 1943. They were married for 34 years and had three beautiful children; Richard, Linda and Robert. Jim later passed away in 1977. Vivian then met Henry Paul Ruppert, Jr. and they wed on November 4, 1978. They were married for 36 years until Henry's death in 2014.

Vivian worked for Gates Rubber Company in the 1940's, then became a stay at home mother to her three children. She was an amazing pilot flying around the country with her husband Jim. After Jim's death she would return to work at Key Bank as a Customer Service Representative.

She thoroughly enjoyed flying in her early years, camping and fishing at Flaming Gorge. She kept an amazing yard with a breathtaking rose garden. Vivian was a phenomenal cook and seamstress. She always took tremendous pride in her clothes and appearance. She always had the most beautiful hair and skin.

Survived by her son Robert (Darci) Yardley; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husbands James Yardley and Henry Ruppert; son Richard James Yardley; daughter Linda Diane Champion Yardley; and grandson Derek James Yardley.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27th at 2:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
