Stanley Hill Elg

1937 ~ 2016

Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa passed away on April 29, 2016 surround by his family. He was born to Lorenzo F. and Lenora H. Elg on November 17, 1937 in Salt Lake City, UT. He married Kathryn Heinecke on April 17, 1959. Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 3, 1965. He is the father of 3 children of which he was very proud of. He loved to have his family around him.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved to give service to others in need. He worked as an engineer for Hercules for 38 years. After retiring from Hercules, he worked part time at Utah Disaster Kleenup repairing damaged electronics. He served his country in the US Army Reserve. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed ‚ RC model airplanes, golfing, skiing, biking, fishing, and traveling. He was on the Brighton Ski Patrol for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn, children ‚ Patrice (Terry), Duane (Lisa), Darren (Stephanie), 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, siblings Bert (Maxine) Elg and Marybeth Gold. Preceded in death by his granddaughter Melynda Beckstead. We would like to thank Huntsman Cancer Institute and One Care Hospice for the great care they gave Stan.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Mount Jordan 3rd Ward, 8950 S. 400 E. Viewings will be held Monday, May 2nd, 6-8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) and 9:30 to 10:30 am. prior to services held at the church. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
