Bradley Alan Applegate

1974 ~ 2014

Bradley Alan Applegate came into this word on April 20, 1974. His strong presence was known to all he met immediately, even as a child. He had a million nicknames (all terms of endearment) and all of them included the word BIG. Brad was larger than most in stature, but he was a giant in life. Brad was exceptionally good at everything, whether it was school, sports, music, being a friend or coaching, his work career or his favorite, being a DAD.... Brad didn\t show us how to do the job, he showed us how the job was done well.

Brad passed away on Tuesday afternoon at home with his wife by his side. He finally found peace and freedom from the grueling battle with cancer which was diagnosed three months earlier. Brad was a victor in all things and cancer didn\t win this fight, Brad did. In a final act of defiance his heart simply stopped. Somehow he knew there was a better path and he knew all of us here were going to be ok.

Brad was born and raised in Salt Lake City Utah. He attended Skyline High School obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Utah and completed his education at the University of Washington School of Law. While in Seattle he met his perfect match, Tina, and they married in 2002. In 2004, their son William Andrew was born. William\s birth was the best day of Brad's life. He was given the most beautiful boy on earth, his clone.

Brad is survived by his wife Tina, their amazing son William, and their new dog Maggie. He is also survived by his parents Anne and Terry Applegate, Tina\s Father David Morse, and mother, Leslie, and her husband Harold. Also sister Brandee, his brother in law Russell Fox, and his adored nieces Aimee and Amanda. His sister in law Julia Morse, her husband Eric Christoffersen, and nephews Wayan and Niels. His brother in law John Morse and a family of friends too numerous to list. There are friends we chose as family, like Uncle Danny, Aunt Amanda and Uncle Stick who will guide us through the days to come.

The last three months of his life showed us an ideal to live by. His wise humor and complete understanding of people; will forever remind me of how worthwhile every day can be. Don\t be sad at his departure because Brad would want you all to smile and carry on while remembering all those great memories shared. Brad won at the game of LIFE. He won with brute strength at times and intense difficulty at others, but with an undying love for his family and friends, the love of laughter and friendships. I pray to have the heart, stamina and power of soul to endure and push forward with our lives in a positive, significant, persistant and meaningful way which Brad exemplified. HE was the ultimate Champion.

In his honor please remember to love one another and PLAY LIKE A CHAMPION TODAY!
