Heinz Ludwig Mahler

1931 ~ 2018

Heinz Ludwig Mahler, beloved husband, father, Opa and brother passed away peacefully on October 26, 2018.

Heinz was born on June 11, 1931 in Heilbronn, Germany to Ludwig Mahler and Marta Geist Mahler.

He was preceded in death by his son Frank Mahler. Heinz is survived by his loving wife Lore Huebler Mahler, who has been his constant companion for 67 years; son Heinz Joachim (Nancy) Mahler; sisters Gisela (Guenter) Nitz and Ingeborg (Hans) Fingerle; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly and unconditionally.

Heinz was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He faithfully served in many callings including as first Bishop of the Heilbronn, Germany Ward, Bishop at the Salt Lake Bishop's Storehouse, temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple, and together with Lore, as service and leadership Missionaries in the Salt Lake Liberty Stake.

For many years, Heinz was employed by Western Toy and Hobby, selling and delivering toys throughout the intermountain west. Heinz and Lore loved to travel, especially with his sister Gisela and his best friend Guenter. Heinz made lasting friends wherever he went and treated everyone with kindness and love. He always had a hug and a smile for everyone he met.

Heinz will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, with funeral services to follow at 11:30 AM, at the Parley's 5th Ward church building, 2615 East Stringham Ave, Salt Lake City, Utah.
