James Cutler Clark

1928 ~ 2017

James Cutler Clark, 88, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep, May 19, 2017. He was born August 26, 1928 to James Henry Clark and Ina Cutler Clark in Orem, UT. He grew up on his family's fruit farm in Orem, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. He was a member of the LDS Church and active in Future Farmers of America, in his youth. He served as an MP in the United States Army for two years. He married the love of his life, Leona Mayberry, April 1, 1950. Together they had two sons, Jeffery Mark Clark (Kris), and Craig J. Clark (Vicky). He owned and ran his father's trucking company, James H. Clark and Son Trucking, from 1969 to 1995, when he turned operations over to his sons. He served as an officer of the Utah Motor Transportation Association. He loved golf and was a member of the Alpine and Hidden Valley country clubs. He was a member of the Arabian Horse Association for many years and enjoyed breeding and showing horses around the country. He loved to socialize and reminisce, and most recently was excited about re entering the horse breeding world with his son Craig.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Leona, his son Craig, two daughters in law (Vicky, Kris) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters, and his son, Jeffery.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd., Sandy, UT, from 10:30 to 12:00. Followed by graveside services at 12:30. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
