Bill Jordan

1951 ~ 2013

Bill graduated from this life on the evening of his 62nd Birthday. Taken way too soon, his passing was sudden and unexpected.

Bill was born to Clift and Jane Jordan in Heber City, Utah. From an early age he learned the importance of hard work as he spent a lot of time up in the Uintah Mountains tending sheep with his family. In February 1972 he enlisted in the Marines only to be Honorably Discharged in May 1972 because of a heart murmur. He returned home to Salt Lake where within a couple of weeks he met and instantly fell in love with Sharon. They were married on October 5, 1972.

Bill enjoyed his profession as a Survey Engineer where he was admired and respected for his vast knowledge. His last project was working on the Mountain View Corridor. Bill made a lot of friends over the years, many of whom were like brothers to him.

Bill loved spending time with his family. He and his son John developed a very special bond in their mutual love of drag racing, working on cars and building John and Joani\s new home. Over the past several years they have spent every race season together at Rocky Mountain Raceways. They were excited to head south this Thanksgiving to compete in the Las Vegas Bracket Nationals.

Bill and Sharon recently went back East with their daughter Stacey to see the fall colors. The highlight of that trip for Bill was to visit Bangor, Maine where his favorite author, Stephen King, lived. He was able to see the city that inspired the novels he loved to read over and over again. Bill also enjoyed playing the guitar and caring for his Koi pond. Bill is survived by his wife and best friend of 42 years, Sharon, his \"pups\" Shadow and Demon, his parents Clift and Jane, daughter Stacey (Leo), son John (Joani), sister Lynda and brother Ken, brother-in-law Neil, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that all looked up to and adored him.

We\ll see you again soon. You are a wonderful son, husband, Dad, friend and overall an amazing man. We are all so grateful for everything that you did for us. We know that you are with your Grandpa Bill, and your in-laws Doug and Bernice, all of whom you loved so much.

Family and friends are invited to attend a casual farewell and tribute to his life that will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Larkin Sunset Gardens from 10am-1pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Best Friends Animal Society at www.utahpets.org.
