Our loving beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and aunt, Mindy Lynn Godfrey Gates, lost her battle with depression on Feb. 18th, 2018. Mindy was a very loving, kind person who loved candy, especially bubble gum. You could always find her helping others, that was something that she loved to do. She was the type of person who would give the shirt off her back if you needed it with no questions asked and would do anything for anyone. Mindy\s integrity was very important to her, she knew who she was and what she wanted and most of the time she got it. She loved life, she loved to laugh, and above all she loved the color pink. Mindy had a special place in her heart for children and her family. Her favorite way to show her love was to give you a gift. Mindy loved being the center of attention and made sure she was the loudest one in the room. She was passionate in everything she did, a few of those are the Dallas Cowboys, Minnie Mouse and Music. Mindy loved shopping and you could always find her at the sugarhouse DI finding her treasures. She would make friends wherever she would go, and once you were her friend you were part of her family. She loved her family especially her son Noah. One of the highlights of her life was having Noah and marrying Stephen Gates. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by the love of her life Stephen O Gates (spouse), her son Noah Clayton, her mother Kathryn Neibert, her father James Godfrey "DA", Her siblings Sidney Godfrey (brother), Tiffany Gallup (sister), Kimberly Luckau (sister), Justin Godfrey (brother) and Debbie Godfrey (sister).
Mindy was preceded in death by her grandparents Rew and Pearl Wiley and Joseph and Jacqueline Godfrey.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Mindy's honor on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South. Friends and family are invited to visit with one another an hour prior to the celebration at the mortuary.
