Mary Ruth Prince Strong

1960 ~ 2017

Mary Ruth Prince Strong, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, returned to her heavenly home on April 16, 2017, in Murray, Utah of a rare form of cancer. She was born January 10, 1960, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the third child of Donald Gail and Beth Perry Prince.

Ruth attended East High School, Brigham Young University and graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Utah. Ruth loved to travel and spent time studying at BYU-Hawaii and Vienna, Austria, which always had a place in her heart. She loved to visit new places and re-visit old favorites---and she was always looking forward to visiting more places.

Ruth loved good books, good art and good friends, but mostly she loved spending time with her family. Ruth married Warren Gerald Strong in the Salt Lake Temple on January 18, 1989. They have three beautiful children, Jordan Warren, Erin Elizabeth and Emily Ann. Ruth's family was the focus of her world. She loved being involved in their projects, schools and helping with their various activities (sometimes much to their chagrin).

Ruth worked for Intermountain Healthcare for over 30 years. The wonderful people in the Human Resources department were her second family and she enjoyed working with them.

Ruth was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel and serving in the church. She served in many different stake and ward callings, but always found a home in Primary.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Warren; her children, Jordan (Megan), Erin and Emily. She is also survived by her mother, Beth; brothers and sister, John (Denise), Lori (Harold) Brockbank, James (Kerri-Ann) and Jeff (Karianne); as well as her beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved father, Gail Prince and her sister-in-law, Wendy Croft Prince.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Parleys 3rd Ward Chapel, 2625 Stringham Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call on Thursday, April 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn (2350 East 1300 South) and Friday morning from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place at Larkin Sunset Lawn.

"God be with you ‘til we meet again."
