Ryan Dee Smith passed away on August 22, 2018 of natural causes. Ryan was born Febuary 19, 1977,in Salt Lake City and other than 3 years in El Paso Texas, lived his whole life in Salt Lake. He attended Ensign Elementary, Bryant Jr. High, and graduated from West High School. He graduated from the University of Utah with a BA degree in Finance.
Ryan was a founding partner in the Impact Hub in downtown Salt Lake and was very active in investing in numerous start-up businesses.
Ryan was a proud and active Democrat, he vigorously worked for and donated to candidates he believed in. He passionately and tirelessly worked for causes that he believed in, Social Justice, equal rights for the LGBT Community, clean air, and many others.
Ryan loved the Utes, and was a long time season ticket holder and supporter, he also loved the Jazz. He loved the outdoors and in his 20's, hunted all over the world.
Ryan was a devoted son loved and respected by many and will be Sorely Missed. He is survived by his Bull Mastif Sam, his two Great Danes, Mika and Ross, his father and mother, Richard and Julie, his brothers Nick and Scott, his niece Ally Julie, and 2 nephews, Tyler and Dee. He was preceded in death by both his Grandparents, Dee and Ida Smith, and Marvin and Merle Wright
A private celebration of his life will be held where those who truly love him will gather and celebrate his life and remember the good times
