Lynn Sloan

1945 ~ 2013

Lynn Franklin Sloan, 68, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 3rd 2013, at his home in West Jordan, Utah, after a courageous battle of renal cell carcinoma. He was born on January 16th 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William (Bill) and Betty (Graham) Sloan.

Lynn grew up in South Salt Lake, Utah. He attended Granite High School in South Salt Lake, Utah. After high school he began work forUnion Assay as an Assayer/Chemist where he worked for 20 years. At age 40 he began a new carrier at Varian as a Chemist. He retired in 2007 after 22 years.

Lynn married the love of his life, Jeane Walton on October 1st 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah. This year they celebrated 48 years of a loving marriage. Lynn enjoyed camping with his family, golfing with his buddies, playing cards with the gang. Lynn had a passion for automobiles, enjoying auto shows with the boys, and he fulfilled a dream of owning a sports car a 1992 red Corvette.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Raymond. Lynn is survived by his spouse, Jeane; his sons/daughter Steven (Julie) Sloan, Shauna (Kim) Barker, Eric (Bridgette) Sloan, Kevin (Natasha) Sloan; his sister Rachelle (Loren) Mutchler; his grandchildren Ryan, Levi, Miranda, Desiree, Dakota, Justin, Jessica, Cheyanna, Devin, Joshua, Emilia, and Tobias; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The Sloan family would like to recognize Dr. Stephen Wood, Dr. Greg Miller, and Michelle with CNS hospice for their loving care of Lynn.

In Lynn's honor, a viewing will be held Monday, December 9th from 6:00 ‚ 8:00 p.m. A casual memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 10th at 2:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service starting at 12:30 p.m. All services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Following the services, the family will be greeting friends and relatives beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the LDS church at 7115 S. 3200 W., West Jordan, Utah.
