LaRue Curtis Howard, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, age 84, passed quietly into the eternal realms on Thursday, January 15, 2015, in Herriman, Utah, due to cause's incident to age.
She was born November 10, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Veron and Alene Livingston Curtis. She married Dale Howard for time and all eternity on April 20, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had six children. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and actively participated, including serving several years as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Temple.
This quiet, unassuming woman was small in stature but large in heart, a giant among us. We all are better for having been blessed by her tender spirit and living kindness. "Mom" and "Grandma Rue", we will miss you.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Howard; parents; sister, Lois; grandsons, Curtis, Jarom, Justin and Jeffrey.
She is survived by her children; Steven (Lesa) Cactus Flats, AZ, Cyndee (Stephen) Homer West Jordan, UT, Curtis Bonebreak, OH, Annette (Paul) Thompson Centerville, UT, John (Debi) South Jordan, UT, Jay (Trina) West Jordan, UT, 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
The family expresses gratitude for the tender care by the staff and nurses of the BeeHive Home of Herriman and the Brighton Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to LDS Worldwide Missionary/Humanitarian Fund, Utah Food Bank or a charity of choice.
Funeral Services will be held, Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the West Jordan Mountainview Stake Center, 2901 West 9000 South, West Jordan, Utah. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
