Howard Stillman Lindsey was born January 13, 1915 in Buffalo Center, Iowa. His parents were Ernest Leon Lindsey and Ruie Belle Schultz Lindsey. He married Neva Elizabeth Thomas on June 25, 1939 and together had five children: Karen (Lyle Waterman) of Nashua, Iowa, Janice Rubel of Tucson, Arizona, Viona (Clarence Sturgeon) of Denver, Colorado, Robert (Lila Sund) of Gig Harbor, Washington and Mark (Gail Johnson) of East Bethel, Minnesota.
Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Neva Lindsey, parents, his siblings, son Robert , grandson Jonathan Lindsey and a great-grandson Jessie Schmidt.
Howard retired in 1975 from the Rio Grande Railroad as an engineer after 34 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason of the Canyon Lodge in Midvale, Utah and Scottish Rite as well as a member of the Eastern Star. He was a 50 year member of the I.O.O.F. Howard was honored as a member of the Governors Utah Century Club in August 2015 by Gov. Herbert.
Services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Mountain Vista United Methodist Church, 8931 South 3200 West, West Jordan, UT. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) Sandy, Utah.
