Wilma Slover Wall

1935 ~ 2019

Wilma Slover Wall (neé Wilma Ann Slover) born April 10, 1935, passed away suddenly January 26, 2019; the youngest daughter of Edwin Allsop and Martha June ‘Birdie" Slover, brother Edwin Eugene Slover and sister Dorothy Slover Morgan. Husband, Max Melvin Wall, and son Kevin William Wall, precede her passing; survived by sons Edwin Stanton Wall and David Elliott Wall (Barbara), grand children David Lewis Wall (Stacey Gray), Alexandria "Allie" Hurley (Steven), Edwin Alexander Wall, Andrea Elizabeth Grace Wall and Alyssa Victoria Mae Wall and expected great grandson, Theodore Benjamin Hurley.

Born in Mcgill, Nevada, raised in Hurley, New Mexico, where her father was General Manager for Kennecott Copper Chino Mines Division. Received her Bachelors in Home Economics at Fort Collins Colorado University, taught physics, then returned for graduate school where she met Max, a Wyoming Cowboy, pursuing his Master's in Agricultural Chemistry. They married April 7, 1960, in Pavilion, Wyoming.

Wilma was active with 4H, PTA, DeMolay Mothers, DAR, Centenary UMC, Reviewer's Club, and beloved Bridge and Mahjong friends. She embraced her PEO sisters, their warmth, companionship and love. Enjoyed Eastern Star membership over fifty years. Attended Centenary on Sunday Mornings, and after the "Church of the NFL" with friends. She was special coach to the West High Mock Trial team. She loved social media, connecting family and friends. Wilma enjoyed wonderful neighbors for over fifty years and dear friends who did her hair, went shopping, beautified her home and made life a joy.

Grandma Willie had many ‘adopted' family members, sons and daughters; always loving, gracious and caring; embracing everyone. She loved art, especially water colors, history, museums, music and theater; and was an accomplished violinist and pianist, and wonderful cook. Learning was central to her life; always curious, inquisitive and engaged and interested. She loved Broadway, Utah Symphony, Utah Shakespeare Festival and Hale Center Theater (notably the Christmas Carol).

Special thanks to University of Utah Orthopedics for new knees, and Huntsman Cancer Institute (Dr's. Buys and Peretta) staff and nurses toward beating breast cancer.

She loved the Alta Club, members, and staff - parking in the PC, awesome food, personal trainer, dinner and a glass of Merlot. She appreciated the programs, library forums, club nights and special concerts.
