Lynelle Christensen Schulkins, 57, passed away on Aug 15, 2014in Sterling, VA after a valiant fight with cancer surrounded by her family and friends. She was loved and will be missed by all.
Lynelle was born to Charles Bert and Blanche Elizabeth (Davidson) Christensen on October 29, 1956 in Salt Lake City, UT. She married John Andrew Schulkins on June 25, 1994 in Reston, VA. Lynelle enjoyed knitting, going to the beach and traveling. Lynelle served in many church callings, including working in the Washington DC LDS Temple for 2 years and loved it very much.She enjoyed going to barbershop quartet events in which her husband sang. Recently she joined a ladies quartet group. Lynelle was a wonderful woman and friend to all she met.
Survived by husband John, step children John Jr. (Ivette) , Jessica, Eric Schulkins, Rebecca (McLean) Barnett, 8 grandchildren, brothers Bruce (Colleen), Aaron (Carla), Dean, Rex (Jill) Christensen, sister Lynda (John) Peterson and many nieces and nephews who loved her. She is preceded in death by parents and a nephew Brian Christensen.
Funeral will be Wednesday, Aug 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ashburn LDS Stake Center, 21015 Claiborne Pkwy, Ashburn, VA 20147. Friends may call from 10:00—10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the same address.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 S), Sandy UT.
Lynelle Christensen was my favorite missionary companion. I lost track of her many years ago. She will be greatly missed.
