Cleo L. Butcher

1928 ~ 2017

Our kind loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on August 5, 2017.

Cleo was born in Murray, Utah and attended Granite High School. She loved to dance and as a young lady would travel to the dance establishments in Salt Lake City (such as the Coconut Grove) to dance with a special young man named Harry. When Harry was called to duty in WW II, Cleo waited for him to return all the while receiving letters to let her know he was doing well and proudly citing his "Cleo" tattoo and his jeep nicknamed CLEO. Harry and Cleo were married in August of 1947 after his return from the War and operated a successful Heating and Air Conditioning business in the Salt Lake Valley until they retired in the late 1980′s.

Cleo had a zest for living and was loved by family and friends because she was so vivacious. She was friendly, charming, cheerful and witty, and could always make people smile. She loved to go on trips as often as possible and enjoyed dressing up to explore her current location.

Cleo was the proud mother of two children, Larry (Terry) Butcher and Diane (Rick) Laxman, and was the grandmother to six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.
