Sharon Schirack Kerkman

1953 ~ 2018

West Jordan, UT. I learned life's lessons and now I have gone home. After a courageous fight with not one, but two cancers, I leave behind my beloved family and friends, to join the immortal spirits of those who have traveled this path before me.

I was born on December 29, 1953, in Ohio, to wonderful parents, John and Shirley Schirack. I graduated from Ogden High School in 1972, and Weber State University in 1974. I married Kevin Bigler in 1976 and we had two beautiful daughters. Kevin passed away August 18, 1985. I was briefly married to Greg Soter in 1986. I then married Craig Kerkman in 1988 and moved to West Jordan, Utah.

I was employed for 35 years with Merrill Lynch, working in both the Ogden and Salt Lake City branch offices. I worked part time with Atria Sandy after retirement from Merrill Lynch, as a Concierge. I was also an Independent Sales Consultant for Norwex 4 years.

I worked during high school and college at the Orpheum Theater in Ogden, Utah, and there met my life long best friends, Tara Harris-Picciotti, Michael K. Green, Gregg Freeman and David Jones. I love you guys so very much, more than you will ever know!

One of the highlights of my life was being chosen as a 2002 Winter Olympics volunteer, working closely with the IOC at the Olympic Family Hotel, in the Little America Hotel complex. We opened our home to a young Australian girl, Brochelle Holliday, who came from Sydney, Australia to Salt Lake to volunteer for both the Olympic and Paralympic games. She lived with us for 3 months. What a delight it was to spend days will Belle at the Olympics.

I am survived by husband Craig; daughters, Charise (Rob); Tiffany (Jeremy); stepsons: Steven and Scott, and the loves of my life, my Grandchildren: Natalia, Ashlyn and Marshall; Parker, Macie, Alexis, and Brynlee; Brightyn and Charlie; my beloved sisters: Linda (Edward), Sandra (Mark), Nina (JT), and brother, Andrew (Wendy); and many beloved nieces and nephews. I also leave behind my cat of 13 years, Fuzzy Butt. Thank you for being my furry best friend.

I was preceded in death by my first husband, Kevin Bigler; Fred and Margaret Kerkman; Melva Bigler; Todd Bigler; and mother, Shirley Schirack.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 1:00 ‚ 4:00 p.m. at The Chateau, 1910 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah, with the memorial service starting at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to any charity of your choice. Charities I held dear were: National MS Society of Utah; Ogden High School Foundation- Class of '72; American Cancer Society; and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary or the Humane Society of Utah.
