Brian Wayne Gessell, beloved husband, dad, brother, son, and grandpa passed away on December 29, 2015 at the age of 57.
He was born in Regina, Sask., Canada to Clarence Gessell and Roberta (Schuette) Gessell on May 5, 1958, the second of three boys. Shortly after, his family moved to the United States. Brian spent most of his childhood in Carbondale, Colorado and graduated from Roaring Fork High School.
Brian married his loving wife Judy on July 2, 1995. They spent many blissful years together full of fun and adventure. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in December 1994 and called the area their home.
Brian drove truck for Savage Industries for the last nineteen years hauling cement products to various plants across the valley. He was a hard worker and dedicated to getting the job done. He had a way of putting a smile on the faces of his friends and co-workers with his wonderful sense of humor.
He is remembered for being "Mr. Fix-it" and could repair anything. He spent many hours tinkering in his garage creating his own tools and finding his own solutions to problems.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time fishing, boating, and camping with his family. He was also an animal lover, taking his two dogs with him everywhere.
Remembered most about Brian is his kindhearted spirit and loving soul. He was always helping others in need.
Brian is survived by his wife Judy; his daughters Maro (Randall) Hager, Nicole (Aaron) Jackson, and Crystal Snider; his parents Clarence and Roberta; his brothers Shane and Bruce; and six grandchildren.
He will always be loved and missed.
Services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary (2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84108). Visitation with the family will be held prior to the funeral from 1:30 p.m. ‚ 2:00 p.m.
