Betty Marjorie Duke Christensen passed away peacefully on October 10, 2015 at 90 years old.
Born April 30, 1925 to Amasa Duke and Violet O\Brien Archibald in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married the love of her life, Rex Kay Christensen, on February 1, 1946.
Betty and Rex raised their four children, Sharon, Linda, David, and Robert, in Kearns, Utah, where she worked as a librarian for over 20 years. The family enjoyed taking vacations together, and her children and grandchildren have many fond memories of celebrating holidays together and family parties under the big apple tree in the backyard. Rex and Betty enjoyed traveling and cruising together throughout their marriage. Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children Sharon Lacher (Gary), Linda Barnes (Steven), David Christensen (Diane), and Robert Christensen (Karine), 24 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rex, after 56 years of marriage, on July 1, 2002. As well as by her parents, Amasa and Violet (Charles), her sisters Ellen and Jennie, and one granddaughter, April Nicole Christensen.
Funeral services for Betty will be held on Saturday, October 17th, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Larkin Sunset Garden Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) Sandy, Utah, where a viewing will take place on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm, and on Saturday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services.Interment to follow the funeral at Larkin Sunset Garden Cemetery.
