G. Fred Zitting

1931 ~ 2014

G. Fred Zitting, born in La Grande, Oregon to John A. and Elsie Davis Zitting, September 2, 1931, passed quietly at home in Riverton, Utah surrounded by his beloved family on July 1, 2014. Out of his nine children, 41 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, only one grandson preceded him in death. Fred also leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Roberta (Bobbie) Nielson Zitting, whom he met at BYU while obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree, and three special brothers, Jack, Roy and Carl.

He volunteered as an army medic and was stationed at Fort Sam Huston in San Antonio, Texas. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving the Lord as a stake missionary, Boy Scout leader, counselor, teacher and other callings.

Working in the family retail business filled his younger life. He then opened his own Real Estate office as the designated broker until he retired at the age of 68. Fred continued managing rentals in Wenatchee, WA even after moving to Utah in 2003, he always said he would not ever retire. A great sense of humor endeared him to all, even his doctors and nurses. A good provider both temporally and spiritually, we will miss him greatly.
