Kay France Gardner

1940 ~ 2016

Kay France Gardner passed away peacefully of causes incident to cancer on August 7, 2016, in her home in Riverton, Utah. Born Oct. 2, 1940, in Logan, Utah, to Edward LeRoy France and Jean Hylton. Married to Robert Covey Gardner of Newport Beach, California, on July 21, 1965, in the Logan LDS Temple. She is survived by her husband Robert; her daughters Mary Ann Chesley (Kurt), Michelle Renee Fugal (Jeffrey), Laura Mae Crane (Brian); her sons Robert Michael Gardner, Stephen Edward Gardner (Jennifer), Brian Dee Gardner (Elaine); her mother and two brothers Glen J. France (Lyniss) and E. Paul France (Cynthia); and 11 grandchildren.

Before her marriage, Kay taught Fourth grade for four years at Curtis Elementary in Salt Lake City, Utah. This experience served her well as she raised her six children and served in various callings as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Primary, Young Womens, and Relief Society. Kay had a love of music and since age 15 played the organ and piano in worship services. Since childhood, Kay loved dogs and always had one or two at home. She took pleasure in church service, gardening, sewing, and cooking.

Funeral services for Kay will be on Monday, August 15, at 11 AM. A public viewing will precede the service, starting at 9 AM at the Pheasant Point Ward Chapel at 3113 W 13400 S, Riverton. The gravesite dedication will follow at 1 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, Utah.
