Cohen James Yearsley

2015 ~ 2017

Our sweet little Coey Bear returned home to our Heavenly Father, while in the arms of his mother and father. He was a cancer warrior who fought hard and won the fight!

At 11 months old, Cohen was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. He endured a year-long fight of chemotherapy, radiation, and four surgeries. Though he suffered much, he always had a smile on his face, which brightened the days of many others. He found happiness in many things and taught us to enjoy life's small moments.

Cohen loved being outdoors and feeling the sunshine on his face. We will never forget an amazing opportunity to take him to the beach a couple of weeks before he died. He loved the ocean and the waves hitting his feet. Cohen also loved animals and was just learning to make animal sounds. He loved to blow kisses and give "bones" to all those he met. He was the sweetest little boy!

Cohen is survived by his father Tyler and mother Carlie, his big sister Ryann and big brother Liam. He taught us more in his two years, than we could have ever taught him in a lifetime. We love you buddy! You did it!

We would like to thank all those who have loved and supported us. Thank you to all our amazing nurses, as well as our oncology, surgical, and hospice teams at Primary Children's Hospital for their care during this journey!

A funeral service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the East Sandy Stake Center, 9636 S. 1700 E., Sandy, UT. Friends and family may call at viewings held on Monday, April 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday prior to services from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the stake center.
