Karen Yvonne Carsey, 79 years old, born August 19, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Died peacefully on April 09, 2016 in West Jordan, Utah. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Vaughn and Ellen Workman. As well as two of her 6 children, Glenda Kay Hardman Hurlbut and Steven Hurlbut. She has left behind a life full of memories of love, sadness, kindness, hope and family. Her smile and willingness to help a stranger or a cat will be missed. Karen is a very important person in many lives and we are very lucky to have her for so long. Although we feel like our time was altogether too short we know that she will never be alone and never again not be the strong willed, outspoken woman we remember her to be before she got sick.
Karen is survived by her sister Debra Butterfield, brothers Paul and Christopher Workman. Her daughter Diane Lorrie Johnson and sons Gary Hardman, Kent and Robert Hurlbut. As well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Morgan Cruikshank (great grand child) wrote:
We will never forget
The way you sucked on lime Popsicles
Or watched Beaches all the time
Or how you loved The Price is Right
We will never forget
How you said what was on your mind
Without a worry
Of what we would think
We will never forget
The hardships you faced
And how you handled them
Or how you didn\t take things for granted
We will never forget
How you took care of us all
And kept us all in line
And even though I can\t really rhyme
You should know how we loved you.
