Sherbyn H. Meredith

1926 ~ 2016

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on May 11, 2016 with his wife and family by his side. He was born in Salt Lake City to John H. Meredith and Edna Henderson Meredith. Sherb graduated from South High and immediately joined the U.S. Air Force during WW-II. After the war, he attended the U of U and joined the Utah National Guard and was employed for them as a purchasing agent, advancing to the position of Lt. Col.He loved his country and served proudly for over 37 years. He married his sweet-heart Carley Rae Budd in 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple and they enjoyed over 65 years of happiness together. Sherb was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many ward, stake and leadership callings. He loved baseball, roller skating, hunting, fishing, and traveling and camping with the family. He golfed with many friends and once made a hole in one. He became skilled at polishing rocks, gems and silversmithing, teaching classes and making beautiful jewelry for family and friends.

Sherb is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, children, Brent (Stacie) Meredith, Karen (Brad) Perry, Kathy (Walter) Banks and DeAnne Zelenkov, 22 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Foothill 6th Ward (2215 Roosevelt Ave). A viewing will precede the services from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
