Barbara Renee Jensen, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister passed away peacefully on July 9, 2016 of natural causes, with her life long, loving companion at her side. She was born on August 29, 1935 in Inglewood CA to David Milton Lewis and Leah Midgley Lewis. She met her sweetheart, Mel Jensen, at a very early age. They married in 1953 and they have been sweethearts for 63 years. Barbara and Mel were inseparable. Where he was, she was. They loved boating, fishing and camping and meeting many friends along the way. Barbara was very talented and showed it in the many crafts she created until rheumatoid arthritis made it hard to use her hands. Her beautiful art was displayed everywhere. She loved her new home of six years and enjoyed her time there with Mel and their little Westie. In the past few years as Barbara's health was declining, Mel was there as a very devoted care giver, seeing to her every need.
Barbara is survived by her husband Mel, two sons, David Arthur and Ronald Allen, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren, sister and brother in law Sharon and Ken Latimer.
The family would like to thank the staff of Encompass Hospice and Dr. Gary Miller for their loving care during this difficult time. Also, thank you to the neighbors who have been there for Mel and Barbara. So many caring people.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. Friends and Family may call Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
