Harvey Miles Jensen

1932 ~ 2019

Harvey passed away on Feb. 24, 2019. He was born on Feb. 26, 1932 in Salina, UT to Miles James and LaPriel Christiansen Jensen. Harvey grew up in Axtell, UT with his younger sister Patricia Jensen Sperry. It was here that he learned about hard work as he helped his father with the family dairy farm.

He was employed as a journeyman ironworker with The Intermountain Ironworkers Union Local 27 until his retirement in 1989.

Harvey married his sweetheart Lola Dawn Vest in 1954. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They loved to dance and Harvey was exceptional at it. Together they have 2 children, Blake (Cheryl) and Tammy (Ron) Mantas, 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He was a committed Home Teacher and never missed one month of visiting with the families he loved and served. He enjoyed serving as Scout Master and in the Young Men\s organization for many years.

Harvey loved to travel and together with Lola, they visited sixteen countries and every state in the nation. He was a proud patriot and a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was always on the go and spending time with his family and friends camping, riding ATV\s, hunting, fishing, skiing, boating, golfing and just getting in that daily walk with his longtime neighbors and friends. He was quite artistic and loved working on craft projects. Harvey always had a productive garden and an immaculately kept yard.

He was an avid Jazz fan but that didn\t rival his love for coaching or supporting his children, grand and great grandchildren\s sporting events. It was rare that he ever missed a game. He will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. His ever-present beautiful smile, twinkling eyes and sense of humor will be dearly missed. As one family member said \"He is a man worth remembering!\".

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 at the Bellview Ward, 1050 East Galena Drive, Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Online condolences may be left at larkincares.com.
