Ruby Jane Sorenson Whitehead, age 91, passed away April 7, 2016. Ruby was born on July 1, 1924 to Ray F. and Mabel Stout Sorenson in Salt Lake City.
Ruby truly enjoyed her family and loved serving in the temple for over 20 year. She also enjoyed sewing and baking.
Survivors include her children; Dale, Ken, Terry, Janet, Rick, Robert and Nancy, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray F. Whitehead, her parents, son-in-law Russell Wilcock, granddaughter Amber Whitehead, grandson Marcus Whitehead and all 8 of her siblings Lena Sorenson, Orvil Sorenson, Hosea Sorenson, Ina Nugent, Violet Thomas, Carol Sorenson Gardner Gillingwater Cran and Carl L. Sorenson.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at 11:00am at LDS stake center, 3495 West 4850 South in Taylorsville.
A viewing will be held on Monday April 11, from 6:00-8:00pm at the church and from 10:00-10:45am Tuesday morning prior to the service. Burial will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S) in Sandy.
