1926 ~ 2016

On April 10, 2016, Fung Sin Wong, 89, passed away peacefully at IMC in Salt Lake City, UT from complications of pneumonia, while surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Wong was born on Oct. 19, 1926 in Canton, China. She married Bing Wong on Dec. 19, 1948. They had their first son, John, in April 1950. Soon after Bing immigrated to California for better opportunities. Mrs. Wong travelled to Hong Kong in 1953 carrying John. They lived there for 10 years until they joined Bing on March 17, 1963. The family moved to Rawlins, WY before settling in Salt Lake in 1966. They had their second son, Michael, in June 1969. Mrs. Wong worked as a seamstress for over 20 years and could often be seen wearing clothes she created. After retirement, she led a simple life filled with cooking, gardening and sewing. She was a patient teacher of her talents and enjoyed passing on her culinary expertise and gardening advise. She was independent, caring, strong-willed, and a proud parent and grandmother. Her passion in life was her family, and could always be found taking care of them.

She is survived by her two sons John (Debra) and Michael Q. (Kristy), and her three grandchildren Michael R., Kami (Ryan) and Cindy. Her husband, Bing, precedes her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may visit Thursday from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service.
