Richard Stanley Staten II returned to his Father in Heaven Thursday, March 29, 2017 at 10:30 p.m. in the presence of his loved ones after suffering complications of pneumonia. Dick was born July 12, 1932 and was married to the love of his life Donna Marie Gordon August 25, 1950.
Dick honorably served two years active duty through the Korean War and seven years in the reserve. He worked at Hercules Aerospace for 32 years while raising four loving daughters and a son. He enjoyed many healthy years traveling with his love, camping with his children and grandchildren. He had many hobbies including fishing, automotive and especially woodworking. He created several pieces of art that adorn his children's homes. His greatest joys in life were the gospel, nature, and his loving family.
Richard is survived by his wife Donna, his five children; Rhonda Staten, Michelle Strasburg (Tim), Anna Bell (Steve), Lisa Rydalch (Kent) and Richard Staten, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Richard Stanley Staten and Muzzetta Mecham and by his younger brothers Delbert Staten and Michael Peterson.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.). The family will receive friends and family for a viewing prior to the funeral from 4:45-5:45 p.m.
