John Michael Dickelman

1928 ~ 2014

Our wonderful brother, friend and everyone's favorite Uncle Mike passed away June 26, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mike was born September 16, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Dr. Lorin E. and Eve Philip Dickelmann. The family moved to Durand, Wisconsin where Mike attended Durand High School. He also attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and Wisconsin State College at Eau Claire. He served in the Air Force in personnel management and retired as Master Sergeant in 1978. He continued in personnel management in civil service in many different locations until his retirement. He lived in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Hawaii but eventually settled in Mesa, Arizona.

Mike was a 3rd degree Mason. He was affiliated with St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Mesa.

He loved Hawaii, Arizona sunshine, Happy Hour with "Russian Water," corny one-liner jokes, Hoosiers Café in Mesa, Dee's Restaurant (and Joanne!) in Salt Lake City, his many nieces and nephews, and Christopher Peacock CD'S.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Dorothy Hubbard Dickelmann. He is survived by his sisters Mary Mitchell, Salt Lake City, Utah and Lysbeth (Penny) Strong, Mesa Arizona; nieces Linda (Joe) Glonek, Karen (Mike) Carrier, Victoria (Karl) Ketterer, Julie Campbell, Mary (Kevin) Griggs; nephews Robert Dickelmann and Kevin (Christina) Lewis; great-nieces and nephews Kris Ketterer, Nick Ketterer, Megan (Christopher) Garza, Aric Campbell, Jack Griggs, Melissa (Chuck) Keith, David (Charlotte) Carrier, Brent Foster; great-great nieces and nephew Regan, Riley and Raina Keith.

Military memorial services and interment will be held at a later date at the Arizona National Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
