Charles Forrest Sorensen

1932 ~ 2017

Charles Forrest Sorensen was born July 5, 1932 in Boise, Idaho to Andrew Charles and Hazel Johns Sorensen and passed away December 27, 2017 in Sandy, Utah. Charles married Geraldine Bradshaw November 12, 1949. Later divorced. They had six children. He married Marianna Powell July 21, 1972, she passed away July 21, 1997. Charles married Janice Frost Sorensen February 14, 2001 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Charles worked in aviation as Quality Control Engineer for Morton Thiokol Inc. and was recognized for his dedicated and continued service to space operations. He was also a photographer and took countless pictures and enjoyed downloading them on his computer, organizing them and printing them for photo albums. He kept accurate records and lists of everything he did. His greatest passion was music and it was also organized and numbered to be easily located when desired.

Charles and Jan loved to travel and took every opportunity to attend the various LDS temples on their trips. He was also dedicated to many church assignments held throughout the years. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always happy to see them.

Charles is survived by his wife Jan, children; Craig Franklin Sorensen (Debbie), Karen Sorensen Gerhardt (Jim), Ted Andrew Sorensen, Kevin Scott Sorensen (Karen) and Forrest Glen Sorensen, stepchildren; Steven G Larsen (Shawnna), Kelly Larsen Thomas (Terry) and Janalyn Larsen-Schab, 28 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, siblings; Roger Sorensen, Lynne Sorensen Blair, David Allen Sorensen (Linda), Robert Sorensen, Kathleen Sorensen Cutrubus (Phidia), Paul Sorensen (Chris) and John Sorensen (Laurie) as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter Voni L. Sorensen Arciaga DeVries.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Willow Creek 1st Ward, 2115 East Sublette Place, Sandy, Utah with a viewing from 10:00 ‚ 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.larkincares.com.
