Beth Perry Prince

1929 ~ 2018

Beth Perry Prince, 88, returned to her Father in Heaven on March 10, 2018 of natural causes. Beth was born December 31,1929 in Mapleton, Utah to Marion and Clara Elizabeth Larsen Perry. She is the youngest of seven children.

Her life began in humble circumstances on a farm in her beloved Mapleton, where she learned hard work and perseverance in the fields, orchards and coops. Mapleton Mountain was one of her favorite views in the world. She graduated with honors from Springville High School. She attended Brigham Young University and graduated with her B.S. in Elementary Education. She went on to teach elementary school in Nebo, Salt Lake and Jordan School Districts for over 30 years. Her efforts in those schools affected the lives of many children for good. In 1988, Beth was awarded the Jordan School District Elementary Teacher of the Year award.

Beth married Donald Gail Prince on July 23, 1952 in the Manti Utah Temple. They raised five children whom they taught the value of hard work and the importance of education. Together they enjoyed 40 years of marriage before Gail passed away in 1992.

She was active in the LDS church throughout her life. She loved serving in the Primary as a teacher, chorister, and Primary President where she could continue to work with children. Her love of music included the songs of the gospel. Beth loved missionary work starting with spiritually and financially supporting her sons' work followed by supporting numerous grandchildren and ward members serving the Lord. Beth's faith in Heavenly Father and her Savior Jesus Christ was absolute and she loved to bear her testimony and share the gospel with her neighbors.

Throughout her life Mom loved to learn and teach about nature, history, archaeology and other topics. She especially loved studying the gospel, reading, and traveling the world. Gardening was another love.

Beth is preceded in death by her dear husband Donald Gail Prince, her loving daughter Ruth Prince Strong, her daughter-in-law, Wendy Croft Prince, one great grandchild, Shad Gabriel Brockbank, her parents, four sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by four children, John Gail (Denise), Lori Ann (Harold Brockbank), James Edward (Kerri-Ann), Jeffrey Scott (Karianne), one son-in-law, Warren Strong, 21 grand children, and eleven great grand children.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11 am at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30am. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
