Alan Briant Gale

1962 ~ 2024

Alan Briant Gale, age 61, passed away on January 26, 2024 off the coast of Long Beach, California.

Alan was born on May 28, 1962, to Linda Pearl Kay and Frank Leroy Gale in Ogden, Utah. In 1972, he moved to Kearns, where he attended Kearns High School. He later served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. Alan joined the Utah Air National Guard in 1986 and served as an Air Traffic Controller in the 299th Communications Squadron at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, for 8 years.

Alan’s career enabled him to provide for his family, and he made many dear friends along the way. He dedicated 36 years of service at Viking Freight, later Fedex Freight. Alan was a frequent competitor in the Utah Truck Driving Championship, winning his division many times, which allowed him to compete at the National Truck Driving Championship.

Alan married Neesha LuAnne Butt on July 20, 1984. Together, they had four children. After their divorce, he married Rina Rae Rosenhan on September 23, 2011, and they were sealed in the Jordan River Temple on June 28, 2014.

Alan loved to go fast! Whether it was in his Camaro or on the water, he simply loved having fun. Camping, cruising, and traveling were among his favorite activities. Most importantly, he cherished doing all these things with the people he loved. Alan had a special ability to love everyone around him, and his family evolved over the years to include people who needed love and care. He made each individual feel like they were part of his family. He had a profound love for his grandkids: Emma, Luke, Mark, Thomas, Ikaika, and Nora. Countless other individuals have been touched by his unique ability to extend love beyond family boundaries, and we know that all will miss his unique influence.

Alan’s testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ was among his noblest qualities, and he loved to share it with everyone. His testimony showed by how he served those around him. He looked for opportunities to lift those in any way that he could. His ability to seek out those in need exemplified the Savior’s invitation to “love one another.” He believed firmly in the plan of salvation and the blessings promised in eternity, and we look forward to a joyful reunion with him.

Alan is survived by his wife, Rina; his children, Briant (Karlee) Gale, Zachary Gale, Shanae Gale, and Zane Gale; his mother, Linda; and his siblings, Cynthia (John) Martindale, Kent (Carmen) Gale, Kathryn (Benjamin) Anderson, Ronald (Sadie) Gale, and Sara (Patrick) Hatch. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, sister, Connie, and brother, Daniel.

Alan’s funeral service will be on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Bennion East Church Building, 5980 South Canal Road (1300 West), Taylorsville, UT 84123 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT 84092. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Bennion East Stake Center from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and prior to the funeral service from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM.

I grew up with the Gales. They were fun friends to hang with and cause trouble with. They lived down the street from us then they moved into our house. When I joined the Air Force I literally bumped into Alan at basic training. Then we met up after basic at Keesler AFB where we hung out for a few months. When we both got to Hill AFB he was there to give me rides back to Kearns. Those were fond memories that reminded me of his kindness, his laughter and his companionship. He will be missed. Our hearts go out to Rina, a dear childhood friend.

Many times, while I was in front of my garage, he would wave and often stop and visit with me for a while. He made me feel like family. Once, he invited me to watch a conference with him. That is a great memory. It meant a lot to me that someone thought of me and followed up by doing something. I will miss him. and his smile.

Alan you will be missed here in the physical, but you are with us spiritually in the way God's love makes us family united. I loved how we could stay up late or talk a few hours philosophizing on life and Jesus.
To all his family, friends and loved ones, Peace, be still and know that I Am. Jesus Christ lives and is the Savior. Because of that we live and cannot die.

It's hard to know what to say, to be completely honest. I can't believe he's gone, but I always thought it would involve a fast car or a childish grin with the last words "I can make that".

I didn't know Alan for very long, but he was one of the most freely giving people I'd ever met. I remember many times a situation would normally call for anger, frustration, or harsh words but his response was consistently long-suffering and love unfeigned. He was consistently there for me during trying times, and was always willing to provide support, love, and sage advice.

He was and is greatly loved by his family, and I know they feel a deep void at his passing, as do I. Even so, I can't help but picture him happily waiting and watching over us in heaven; sending love to his family, continuing his legacy of charity and watchful care. I suppose all that are left in the wake of a passing say this, but he departed too soon. Alan, you will be missed, but try not to have to much fun up there without us!

Rina & Gale Family
Alan was a character back in high School, was where we had a lot of fun. Cruising state street in his 67 Camaro and then later on working at Viking and FedEx together, sadly has life happens once Alan went to north salt lake we lost contact with each other. Alan you left this life too soon, but I am sure that you must have been needed more on the other side. I hope his family and friends find comfort in the great plan of happiness of our Savior Jesus Christ. You will get to see him again one day. May the Lord s blessings be upon you and comfort you in your times of grief..

Sorry, for your loss it’s rally hard to believe so young. Alan was always there with a smile and good humor, when he was upset he was pissed but quickly was willing to forget and move on. I know he was a good example to everyone and to my knowledge never had a cross word or backbiting except maybe with me. ha. I enjoyed talking with him and felt his genuine kindness. I’m grateful for his friendship and kindred spirit. I know without a doubt that he will watch after his loved ones and they will feel his presence. Know that grieving is powerful and you will come to realize the blessings and understanding of this mortal life is a fleeting moment. We grow going through the good and the bad it’s how we understand and progress. 🌈bows and you will see 🌞 shine and Allen will be over you each step you take. God Bless.

Alan, why did you leave us so early? You are supposed to be here for at least another 40 years. I am missing you already and I am sure you have closer family members who also miss you. Please tell Aunt Linda, your Mom Hi, and let her know that I thought you were a very Special Cousin. Whenever We saw each other, usually at funerals, you were always smiling and in a good mood. I didn't know anything about your work or family, but it sounds like you did the right things to live a good life. God Bless You and your family.
