Alan OwYoung, age 83, passed away on May 16, 2026. Born in San Francisco to OwYung Cheung and Fong Ngin. He later grew up in Oakland, California. He attended San Francisco State University and the University of Utah.
Alan built a meaningful career serving others through the grocery industry, the University of Utah Family and Marriage Center, Salt Lake County Youth Services, Utah State Prison group therapy program, and his private counseling practice.
He was known for his sharp wit and an immense generosity that showed up in quiet, consistent ways. Above all, he loved being a husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Jason (Sharie) and Alanna; his grandchildren, Alex and Lily; his siblings, Maxine, Sandy, and Sheldon; and many nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, Alan will be cremated and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, honor him by offering support to someone in need or donating to a charity of your choice.

I'm so sorry to re-connect through the obituary of your husband. You have my sincerest hope that your life will be blessed with comforting and wonderful memories of a long marriage and life together.
