1927 ~ 2026
Aline “Ma” Gehrke, age 98, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026. She was born on September 16, 1927. She married in 1948 to Charles “Pa” Gehrke and together they lived a long and meaningful life centered around family, faith, and simple joys.
Aline is lovingly remembered by her children: daughter Care Halper, and sons Cory and Curtis Gehrke. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to sixteen great-grandchildren, with one great-great-grandchild on the way—an addition she would have been overjoyed to welcome.
In her younger years, Aline worked as a journalist for the Deseret News. While she enjoyed writing, her greatest fulfillment came from the time she spent with her family.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Aline’s faith was an important part of her life and a guiding influence in the love and service she showed to others.
Much of Aline’s life was spent at “The Cabin,” a special place that became the heart of countless family memories. It was there that she enjoyed fishing alongside “Pa,” surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Those moments, simple, peaceful, and filled with laughter—defined the life she loved most.
Aline will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, her unwavering faith, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the generations she helped raise and the memories that will be treasured forever.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
The family will be hosting an open house celebration of life at her cabin on April 26th from 11-3. All are welcome to celebrate her amazing life.
