Alonzo Emanuel White Jr. was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents Alonzo White and Hattie Lelabell Allen. Alonzo attended Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, IN. He enlisted in the United States Army and was a part of the segregated U.S. Army Colored Troops, where he Honorably served his country. He was wounded while serving and was Honorably Discharge. He received the Purple Heart Medal: Victory Medal: Bronze
Star Medal: Good Conduct Medal: American Theater ribbon: E.A.M.E theater ribbon w/3Bronze Stars: Combat Infantry Badge.

Alonzo was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He loved to read and shared a wealth of knowledge with his children. He loved to listen to music, dance, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was known for his jokes and wise sayings. On November 15, 1947, Alonzo was joined in Holy Matrimony to Evelyn Barnett White, and celebrated sixty-three years of marriage, in which he and his beloved wife was blessed by the Lord, with thirteen children. Alonzo confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized in Jesus name. He attended Coppin Chapel Methodist Church, in Indianapolis, IN., during his earlier years of marriage. Alonzo loved the Lord and brought up his children in the ways of the Lord.

Alonzo made his transition into his heavenly home on June 17, 2021 at 12:07a.m., at the age of ninety-five, and was received with loving arms into the hands of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and into the arms of his loving wife Evelyn, whom he longed for, as well as his dear mother and father.

Alonzo was preceded in death by his dear wife Evelyn; his daughter, Sylvia White; son Robert White, Sr; daughter, Melba Johnson; granddaughters; Kimberly White, Armor Dean White, and Karrie Townsend; great-grandsons Elijah Smith and Jamie Harris.

Alonzo leaves to cherish his memory: his 10 children; Doris Miller of Atlanta Georgia, Rose (Joe) Townsend, Ruth Holmes of Indpls, In., Brenda
(Sylvester) Loving; Walter White; Debra Vaughn of Indpls, In., Larry White, Cynthia White, Sandra (Vernon) Harden of Indpls, In., Raymond White; 38 grandchildren;69 great-grandchildren; 79great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Don't cry for me I'm already gone. Lift your arms to the heaven above and thank God. He was an AWESOME Grandfather who I will truly miss. Hug Grandma for me.
