Arlene Rasmussen Barton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Draper, Utah. Arlene was born June 2, 1933, in Ferron, Emery County, Utah to Rasmus Charles Rasmussen and Alverda Huntsman Rasmussen. She married Dean Barton on July 22, 1952, in the Manti Temple.

Arlene attended Utah State University and got married to her best friend, who served in the United States Air Force. They moved a lot as part of his duties. She loved moving to new locations as she considered them new adventures. She loved travel and loved everything about her life. She was always positive and loved serving others. She especially loved being a mom to four children. She was active in genealogy. She served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including in Young Women leadership positions, Relief Society president, and loved being a ministering sister. She looked for the best in others and cheered them on. She found joy in the journey. She felt that life is to be enjoyed, not just endured. She had a sincere interest in people and was loved by many.

She is preceded in death by her forever sweetheart husband, Dean Barton, her son, Stuart Barton and her daughter, Sharon Barton. Arlene is survived by her children Sue Barton Leavitt, and Douglas Barton (Shari), and her daughter-in-law Darla, her 12 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Her life was centered around her family. She loved the oceans, mountains, and everything in between.

Guestbook/Condolences

Grandma, I love you. Please give Grandpa and Dad the biggest of hugs and kisses for me. Thank you for being so loving, caring, and the most genuine human being. Sorry I couldn’t have seen you one last time to meet my wife, Emma, and your Grandson Logan. He will definitely know how amazing you, Great Grandpa Dean, and Grandpa Stu were in this life. Love you for time and all of Eternity. Sincerely, your Sweety Pie, Joshua.

Grandma,

I am truly grateful and proud to be your grandson. I cherish every moment spent with you and grandpa since the time I was your "little doll" running around, making messes with my crazy brothers and sisters in your house of glass and white carpets. Thank you for always being a beacon of what it is to be a genuinly good person for me. You are someone I will always hold dear and look up to. You were a true saint throughout your life and will fit right in amongst the angels. I will miss chatting with you on Saturdays but I'm sure you have a lot of catching up to do on the other side. We love you Grandma!

Forever your Doll,
Brad
