With deep love and cherished memories, the family of Arlene Taylor announces her peaceful passing on June 14, 2025, at the age of 91. Arlene was born on May 26, 1934, in her grandmother and grandfather Crane’s house in Salina, UT, to Marva Beryle Crane Rasmussen and Evan Lavere Rasmussen.
Arlene was an avid gardener, and she loved her days spent in her garden and yard. She was a beloved mother, a loyal friend, and a source of strength to all who knew her. She was a member of a sorority and actively raised money in support of St. Jude’s Hospital. She got together almost every month for 70+ years with a club of friends from Granite High School and treasured those friendships dearly.
Arlene is survived by her loving family, Debra Gillett, Vicki Beach, James (Teresa) Petersen, and Lisa (Carlos) Taylor-Swanson, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Arlene is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Stauffer, and sister-in-law, Vera Rasmussen. Preceded in death by her parents, Marva and Evan Rasmussen, son-in-law James Beach, and brother Dennis.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all the staff at Crescent Senior Living’s Memory Care facility. They kept the CARE in healthcare and truly loved our Mom, and cared for her needs with expert knowledge, skill, and compassion. We also appreciate the Canyons Hospice Nurses who were likewise expert and caring both of Mom and of her family.
A graveside service will be held to honor her life at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy. Private family luncheon to follow. Online condolences welcome by clicking on the "Send a Condolence” button above.
So deeply sorry for your loss. May her memory forever be a blessing.
Dear Lisa,
We are deeply sorry to hear about your loss.
Although we didn’t have the privilege of knowing Arlene personally, I know how loved and cherished she was through the stories you’ve shared with us.
I can only imagine the depth of your sorrow. Please know that you’re in my thoughts, and I’m here for you in whatever way you might need—quiet company, a listening ear, or simply someone who cares.
May your memories bring moments of peace, and may love surround you as you navigate this tender time.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Mara, Christian and Veronica
