John \"Mark\" Murphy, age 64, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born the second of five children September 25, 1952 in Salt Lake City Utah to John and Nancy Murphy. He was the only son and his moms pride and joy.He worked for Salt Lake County as a surveyor for the past 43 years.
Mark has been married to his soul mate and love of his life Teresa Murphy for the past 18 years. He has two daughter\s Michelle (Sam) Wallace of Shelley, ID and Melissa Kunzi of Murray, UT. Five grandchildren Colby, Austin, Jaxon, Raylie, and Porter and two great grandchildren Eli and Leo.
Mark loved drag racing, golfing, Utah Jazz, playing cards, crosswords, camping, hunting, fishing and riding ATV\s. He played for Salt Lake County summer and winter Olympic dart tournaments where he won several gold metals.He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Nancy Murphy, sister Becky Green, father-in-law Butch Andersen, and several grandparents.
Funeral services will beThursday, November 17, 2016 at 12:00Noon at the Country Park 1st Ward, 11251 S. 2700 W. in South Jordan with a viewing from11:00-11:45 am. Friends may callWednesday, November 16 from6-8 pmat Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) in Sandy, UT. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
