Ashley Marie Salinthone, 40, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at her home in West Jordan, Utah. Ashley is survived by her husband, Steve Salinthone; parents, Julie and Steve Nelson; father, Rusty Rine; grandparents, Patricia Alpin and Harold and Mary Rine; siblings, Nikki Enciso and Chris Nelson; nieces, Samantha and Sarah; nephew, Lucas; furbabies, Indy and Charlotte; and more loving extended family and friends than can fit in this notice.

Ashley was born on September 24, 1980 in Canton, Ohio. At the age of four, Ashley moved with her mother to Orange County, California, where she attended Riverdale Elementary School, Doig Intermediate School, and Santiago High School. Ashley worked for Verizon Wireless for sixteen years, and despite the occasional aggravation, she greatly enjoyed her career as a Global in Enterprise Advisor until the time of her passing.

Ashley was loved by all who knew her, and her trademark biting wit and sometimes brutal candor added to her charm. Ashley was tenacious and refused to compromise her quality of life, even despite her mobility disability. Whether she was attending a Britney Spears concert with her sister, or shopping with her nieces, Ashley lived her life to the fullest extent possible. She was an inspiration to everyone around her.

Dearest Ashley
You have been a part of our family for decades. I am so grateful for the beautiful friendship you and Angie shared. Your bond was so special and deep, and I will always be grateful for that, as I know that no matter what you were always there for each other. We will miss you and love you forever, and will keep your memory alive by saying your name out loud. I love that your Mom said “she’s dancing in Heaven in high heels!” I can see that beautiful sight! Rest easy our beautiful Angel. I love you, Mama Peg

While a short time has passed, I still cannot wrap my brain around the fact that you’re gone. No more memories to be made. But only reliving the fond memories I have of you. I was lucky to call you a best friend and grateful you were a part of my life. Your tenacious attitude will be greatly missed and I appreciate that I could always be myself around you. You were the second person I came out to and I will always keep your reaction in my mind. Thank you for demonstrating what an incredible Aunt looks like. I could never live up to what you did for your nieces and nephew. You are greatly loved and deeply missed. Keep visiting me in song. It means the entire world to me. Love you girl!!!!!
