In Loving Memory of Aurlene Warren Mathison

Aurlene Warren Mathison, age 90, gracefully returned to her heavenly father on June 27, 2023, in Bluffdale, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 06, 1932, in Salem, Utah, to Howard Arlo Warren and Blanche Montague.

Aurlene lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family and community. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in the Primary Presidency and taught arts and crafts in the Relief Society. Aurlene's talent for creating beautiful dried floral arrangements brought joy to those around her.

A remarkable woman of strength and resilience, Aurlene raised six children, five of whom she single-handedly cared for. While working in the bindery printing industry at Deseret Press and Paragon Press, she displayed unwavering commitment to her family's well-being. During the summer months, Aurlene embraced her self-sufficiency by engaging in home canning and bread making, earning the endearing title of "mom" from all the neighborhood children. She often brought laughter and delight to the community by playing games on the front porch and initiating friendly water fights with the kids, creating cherished memories for all.

Aurlene's parenting style balanced firmness and love, leaving an indelible mark on her children. She was a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering support throughout their lives.

Aurlene leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her son Howard Ronald Mathison of Riverton, Utah; daughter Connie Mathison of Ogden, Utah; son George Dale Mathison of Tooele, Utah; son Ted Eugene Mathison of Salt Lake City, Utah; and son Brent Warren Mathison of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Aurlene was preceded in death by her beloved son Raymond Craig Mathison.

Services to honor and celebrate Aurlene’s life will be held on July 6th, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church at 15120 Noell Nelson Drive in Bluffdale, Utah. A closed casket viewing and visitation will take place during this time. Following the visitation, a graveside ceremony and dedication will be held at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, located at 6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah and family luncheon will follow.

Aurlene Warren Mathison will forever be remembered as a loving mother, devoted friend, and cherished member of her community. May her gentle spirit and fond memories bring comfort to all who were blessed to know her
