Obituary
Our beloved mother, Aurora Flores, passed peacefully on Friday morning, October 9, 2026, surrounded by the loving presence of her children. She would have celebrated her 102nd birthday next month. Hers was a remarkable life: Extraordinary in length, rich in experiences, and immeasurable in its influence. She loved travel and adventure, and through her example, taught her family to persevere and face life’s challenges with courage and determination.
Aurora was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in El Paso, Texas, she was the eldest of four children, learning early the responsibilities and joys of family leadership. She naturally became a guiding light for her siblings, a role that would define her character for decades to come.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Victoria and Maria Elena. On June 6, 1970, Aurora was sealed to her beloved husband, Jesus “Jesse” Flores, and their five children in the Los Angeles Temple. This sacred day reflected her deep faith and her enduring belief that family bonds reach beyond this life and continue throughout eternity.
Aurora was a remarkable woman—elegant in presence, sharp in mind, and wise in counsel. Though petite in stature, she was mighty in spirit. She carried herself with grace, spoke with conviction, and stood firm in her principles. She earned respect by her character and quiet dignity. As a wife, she offered unwavering partnership to our father. As our matriarch, she was a protector, a trusted guide, and a steadfast anchor. Through self-sacrifice, tenacity, and great love, she laid the foundation upon which our loved ones continue to stand and grow.
Her lessons were not simply spoken; they were lived. Important principles, like being gracious, remaining true to one’s values, and encountering life’s difficulties valiantly were among the wonderful things she exemplified. We are proud to be her children. The values she instilled, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave will continue to shine through the family she carefully shaped.
Now, just three weeks after saying goodbye to our beloved father, we say goodbye to our lovely mother. After 71 years of marriage, we find comfort in her faith and hold on to the anticipation that the bonds of love extend beyond this life. We entrust them both to the loving care of our Heavenly Father and take comfort in the expectation that this separation is not forever.
Mother, thank you for your great strength, your insights, and your absolute allegiance to us. You shaped who we are, and established a legacy that will endure for generations. We are grateful for the faith that sustains us, for the Savior, Jesus Christ, and for the promise of eternal life that brings light to our sorrow. Until we meet again, we will honor your example, treasure your wisdom, and remain grateful for the love you shared.
You will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and eternally loved.
