Patricia Freeman Mackay

1934 ~ 2019

Pat passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2019. She was surrounded by loving family. Pat was born in Idaho Falls on August 28, 1934. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Pat loved a variety of activities such as snow and waterskiing, biking, aerobic classes, and enjoying the outdoors. She had a passion for traveling and active adventures. She especially loved Sun Valley, Mazatl√°n, and McCall, Idaho. She shared this with dear cousins and friends. Pat was very creative. She had an appreciation for all things beautiful. She created a beautiful home full of love. Her family loved to gather there. She was accomplished at sewing, knitting, crochet, and created beautiful things for those she loved. She was a devoted partner in her husband's business for many years. Pat had a love of learning and reading. She had a gift for expressing love in the written word. Family members have many treasured letters written from her throughout the years. Pat was very perceptive to the needs of many. Even those beyond her own family. She lived a life full of service and blessed the lives of many. She adored her loving husband. They have been sweethearts since they met in the Yalecrest Ward at the age of 14 and 16. They just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Anyone who knew Pat felt important and completely loved. She was always full of praise and compliments. The family wants to express their appreciation to Chris Merrick for the tender loving care she gave to Pat for the past two years. Pat is survived by her loving husband and 3 children: Penny (Robin) Perkins, Richard T. Mackay, and Patrice (Dwight) Hansen. She has 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, with one more soon to arrive (Richard Mackay IV) A viewing will be held Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Yalecrest Ward, 1035 South 1800 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the same location. There will be a viewing held prior to the services beginning at 10:30 a.m.
