Donald Wilbur Flower

1926 ~ 2015

Donald Wilbur Flower passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on April 7, 2015. He has traveled to the cemetery every week for nearly two years to visit his wife and now he can rest beside her.

He was born in Irving, Kansas on August 29, 1926 to Franklin George Flower and Elizabeth Leah Shull. He had to quit school at the age of 12 and move to a farm to help support his family. After serving in the Army in the Pacific during WWII, he married Georgaleen Ruby Underwood and had four children. He later married Virginia Cronk and they had two children. He then came to SLC, UT and was married to Roberta Sylvia Cartere for over 30 years, until she passed away in 2013.

He had a successful career drilling water wells for 55 years. He was always busy. He loved fishing, camping, traveling, and never passed up a yard sale.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, three sisters and two brothers. Survived by his children LaDonna, Dayla, Donald, Roxann, Keith and Brenda, along with step-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing from 12 ‚ 1 pm. Saturday, April 11, 2015 followed by a small service at 1 pm at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 South, SLC, UT. , where he will later be laid to rest.
